1. Facebook launched Live Audio Rooms for Creators, Public Figures, Groups Globally
Facebook is now rolling out a new feature to enhance users’ audio experience on the platform. The social media tycoon has unveiled Live Audio Rooms to public figures, creators, and groups globally. It is launched in response to rising interest in Clubhouse where they will allow users to host live audio discussions on the platform.
This giant company has already started trialing this feature early this year in the US. The official announcement from the company about the global launch came last week, October 11.
Alexandru Voica (@alexvoica), tweeted about the global launch of the new Audio Rooms feature. As per the tweet, all verified creators, public figures, and groups on Facebook across the globe will have the ability to host Live Audio Rooms. He added that it provides creators and communities with more tools to connect. To add in, this feature help people discover new voices they haven’t heard before, and exchange ideas.
The Live Audio Rooms are currently in the testing phase for Android and Desktop. The Facebook Executive, confirmed that Facebook is testing the ability to create a Live Audio Room from an Android app and listen from the Desktop.
2. LinkedIn is shutting down its social media service in China
LinkedIn, the Microsoft-owned social media announced in a statement last Thursday morning that it is shutting down its social media service in China due to a “significantly more challenging operating environment and greater compliance requirements,” and after cries of censorship among its users, joining a long list of American technology companies no longer operating in the country.
