Be Updated: Instagram now lets all users globally share links in Stories via Link Stickers
1. Instagram now lets all users globally share links in Stories via Link Stickers.
Instagram launches link stickers which let you include hyperlinks in Stories in the form of stickers. Mark Zuckerberg announced that it is now available to all users globally on the platform. Instagram released a beta version that started testing link stickers in June. To add-in, the feature has been limited to verified Instagram accounts that have a large number of followers.
According to Instagram, link stickers are helpful for anyone from businesses linking out to their products to activists linking out to external resources. But Instagram concedes that anyone can benefit from link sharing to engage with their followers. Whatever you’re into, from cooking to volunteering or shopping, you now have a space to share in Stories — regardless of your account size. It also says that accounts repeatedly sharing misinformation or hate speech will lose access.
The link stickers feature has now entirely replaced the “swipe up” feature. This is how Instagram users could previously link out to external resources from their Stories. However, the platform was discontinued last August. But with today’s news, link stickers are now more widely available than swipe up. This is due to the old feature being only available to verified accounts with more than 10,000 followers.
2. Facebook has changed its corporate name to “Meta” ∞
The company said it would better “enclose” what it does, as it widens its reach beyond social media into areas like virtual reality (VR)
The change applies only to its corporate name and does not apply to its individual apps, such as Facebook, Instagram, and Whatsapp.
